SAIL has announced to commission new sinter plant at its IISCO Steel
Plant (ISP) at Burnpur in the eastern state of West Bengal, with
expecting annual production capacity approximately 3.88 million tons.
The new steel project will include installing two machines of 204 square meters each from India’s Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
It will help the company to boost crude steel annual production capacity
up to 2.5 million ton from 300,000 tons presently. Also, Posco
Engineering & Construction will help to install a 4,060 cubic meter
blast furnace with designed annual production capacity of 2.75 million
tons.
The new plant is expected to run capacity up to 80% of the iron ore feed the new blast furnace accordingly.
