It is reported that Meishan Steel’s No.5 blast furnace was put into firing on April 25, preparing for official production set on June 1 2012.

Num.5 blast furnace is planned to produce 3.27 million tonne of pig iron a year. Data show that Meishan Steel aggregately produced 3.8542 million tonnes of pig iron, 3.7704 million tonnes of continuous casting billet and 3.5636 million tonnes of HR coil.

Now, Meishan Steel has already owns two 1250 cubic meters blast furnaces, one 1280 cubic meters blast furnace, one 3200 cubic meters blast furnace and one 3200 cubic meters blast furnace.
