Iran's steel output is expected to surge
According to
Iranian financial BBS newspaper reported on October 12, vice minister of
Iran's industrial trade MehdiKarbasian said on Saturday, Iran's crude
steel production is expected to be rising from the current production
capacity of 15 million tons to 40 million tons. MehdiKarbasian as well
as chairman of the Iranian mining group of reform and development,
according to his introduction, the government has proposed about the
development of iron and steel industry plan, and will gradually achieve
the development goal of producing 40 million tons yearly. "Now it is
important to keep the balance of the steel production and steel
manufactured, if all goes to plan, next year is expected to achieve 30
million tons of crude steel production." Iran is the world's iron and
steel federation permanent members, annual steel output ranked 15th in
the world.
